I'm so excited! I just got in contact with Rick Cooper about getting a racing wheelchair so I can start competing in half-marathons. While I was talking to him, we were talking about all the various wheelchair sports that are available. Then he mentioned wheelchair softball. Y'all, I am SOOOOO thrilled! This is the sport I am a national champion in. I miss playing softball like someone might miss their arm if it were cut off. I'm going up to Dallas in February to get fitted for my racing chair and will find out more about the softball teams then. Y'all just don't even know how excited I am about this!
I'm Melynn, a 32-year old, Army Officer wife, mother of a beautiful 3 1/2-year old little girl. I'm a former national level athlete, competing in softball, volleyball and basketball. I had the world by the tail with a downhill pull until one day when I was 19-years old. That was the day I found out I had Multiple Sclerosis and my entire world changed. This blog is my story.
